Can false polarity in the charger cord cause death to DC-in?
Hey,
i fixed my cord, but because the crack in the cable was at the very end of the cable (at the magsafe) i used another magsafe-cable (from a replica charger, which also broke). I connected the outside cable (which is not coaxially located, but instead just besides the inner cable coating) of the working replica with the coaxially outside wire of the original charger. Same with the inner wires.
When i tried it, it didnt work, no led, no charge.
But now, if i use a normally working charger, it just uses it as power supply, no charging. But the macbook also works with battery.
The only problem is, it doesnt charge the battery.
So is it possible, that a false polarity in the cable cause a break down of the charging-tool inside the book?
thx, stefan.
(i already tried PMU and PRAM reset)
Is this a good question?
