Battery won't charge completely

Just installed a new battery in my 4th Gen ipod. Repair went fine and now it works but it wont charge completely. I've left it plugged in over night to charge and in the morning it's still charging. Battery bar only shows about 75% charged after the overnight charge.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Where did you buy your battery? There are a lot of poor quality batteries on the market, especially on eBay and Amazon. Some "new" batteries are just old cells packaged with a new gas gauge circuit so that it shows 0 cycles. Suffice it say, the cells will not charge properly.

Depending on where you bought it, you may want to contact them about a replacement or return. iFixit generally sells good quality batteries.

Thanks for the response!

I just bought this battery from iFixit less that 2 weeks ago. I replaced a battery in a 20G ipod 4th Gen the week before that with a new battery from iFixit and that one is working perfectly. Wondering if it might just be a faulty battery? The ipod that is not fully charging is a 40G ipod 4th Gen if that matters.

Thanks!!

The iPod model doesn't matter. I would contact iFixit support and ask for a replacement.
