Although the red power standby light is on the TV wont turn on

I think bad capacitors can cause this issue, if the problem happens again just unplug the TV for awhile, then plug it back in, and it should work again. If you kind of know your way around devices you could try opening it up and looking for bad/bulging caps on the board.

Have you tried leaving it unplugged for an hour or so and see if that helps?
