MacBook Pro Screen goes black after its on for a few min

I have a Apple MacBook Pro MD102LL/A 13.3-Inch, the display keeps going black. The F1 and F2 keys do not work. It will be bright screen, then it just goes dim, if I have a dual monitor connected I can see the monitor settings going from high to low, and it shows the picture sun dial like you see when you hit F1 or F2 on the dual monitor turned all the way down. The sun dial image never goes away on the dual screen, so you cannot even use the laptop with an extra monitor when the laptop screen is not working because you have a large annoying sun in the way. If I restart it, the laptop screen will last a few minutes, then does it again.

I disabled sleep mode and have it set to never turn off in the energy setting but that did not help. If I disconnect the battery for 5 minutes it will run normal for about 20 minutes then it does it again. I reloaded the operating system and did a clean install but it still does it.

Also, when the screen started doing this, the F1, F2 keys do not work, even the few minutes the laptops screen works you cannot increase or decrease the brightness with the keys. You have to use the System Preferences Display settings to change it. When the laptops screen goes black, you cannot change it in the System Preferences (using the extra monitor so you can see the settings), if you slide the brightness it just goes back down, restart is the only thing that brings it back for a few minutes.
