Replaced LCD & Digitizer on iPad Mini, comes up with duplicate icons

so after the replacement, screen comes up with home screen, duplicate icons and the "Slide to unlock message". The icons are not responding, the slide to unlock is intermittently responsive and takes me to the Enter Passcode screen. Passcode screen accepts input (don't know code so not going all the way into device).

iPad mini replacement screens have a long history of ghost touching. Higher quality parts have tape covering the lower portion of the "copper" traces around the digitizer (on the backside...or the part facing the LCD). Take a look at the pictures here.

The iPad mini is also the hardest iPad model to repair properly. Look throughthis guide to make sure you didn't forget any important steps.
