iPhone Stuck in Continuos Loop, DFU mode not doing anything

A strange thing happened. My iPhone 5s, which has never given me any problems, suddenly turned off. When plugged into a wall charger, it was stuck in a loop. The Apple logo would come up for a couple seconds, then disappear briefly, and then come up again for a couple seconds, over and over again.

I tried plugging it in to my computer, but at first iTunes wouldn't even recognize it. I had to put it in DFU mode for it to be recognized. I tried to restore it with iTunes, but iTunes would say "Waiting for iPhone," the iPhone. I would then end up getting an error, saying it couldn't be recovered. (Error 4005)

So, what's going on, what can I do to fix this.

I recommend to try getting the battery replaced if you have tried restoring using multiple cables and computers.

I fixed this on a 5S just the other day with a new battery. Seems they just give up when near dead and that is the 4005 error and the constant restarting.

After new battery, boot it up and immediately reset the phone again (home and power buttons until logo appears).

Hope this helps,

Mike

Yeah had iPhones before that have came in bricked with a faulty battery.

But in my case it came in not being able to switch on. I wonder if U2 Tristar charging ic is at fault.

To test the IC chip simply have the phone off. Plug the charging cable in and it should turn itself on right after plug in without holding power button. Make sure you break the boot loop before testing it.

If it don't turn on via cable. Then the U2 Tristar charging ic is most likely bad.

Mine had 4005 and turned out it was the NAND chip, but this would be last case scenario.
