What Causes Wifi to Grey Out?

I am here to ask what are all possible causes for the wifi to become greyed out on an iphone 6?

... I sold a phone with wifi working, and theyre now complaining its greyed out. Could it be from them leaving it in the sun on the 45 min drive home?

thanks!

WiFi Chip IC 339S0228 (Yes this has Bluetooth and wifi together in the chip) needs to be either reballed or replaced.

You will need to search for someone that replaces the wifi IC chip.

Look for someone that offers board level microsoldering on iPhones and they should be able to replace or fix it.

@benjamen50 do you do that type of work in Australia?

by

No I personally don't but I do have a friend that does microsoldering (charging IC, touch ic, power management ic and etc). I just either refer people to them or take it down and hand it over to my friend to do.

maybe the OP @zaceustace could click on your icon and email you to get the location in Aussyland of where to get it fixed.

Im looking for proper answers... not people looking to $@$* post for rep.

That is wrong, it can be caused by leaving it in the car. The heat could have made a cold solder joint, try to reflow the chip and if that doesn't work try a new IC.

by

Thank you for proving that is possible (ver heat in car) ... so can I safely say the problem was caused by the user/conditions and not my fault?

by

Oh and btw I am in Australia, and it was hot that day.
