Touch screen doesn't work on my iPhone 5c

The touch screen on my 5c recently stopped working. The phone hadn't been dropped or anything. The screen would turn on when I press the lock or home button. When the screen would come on my notifications would be there but not fully. For example I would have a text message from "Dad" but instead of the name it just showed their number. A number that was in my contacts. I tried replacing the screen but still the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Danny, Could you describe the issue in more detail? Is the problem with the touch screen related to a certain area of the screen, maybe one of the corners?

This is actually probably a better idea, and should be done first

Uh isn't that normal that it only shows the name instead of the phone number on a SMS text notification header on the lock screen?

So for example if you receive a text number from a known contact number it will show the contact name instead of the phone number.

If you want to test delete the contact from your phone and get him or her to send you a text message. It should now display a number instead of a contact name as it is not shown as a known contact.

Starting to sound like software. Backup the phone, either through iTunes, or cloud. Then restore it to the backup. Here's how to put it into dfu, so you can restore it

Plug your device into your computer with a USB cable.

Turn off the device.

Hold the Power button for 3 seconds.

Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds.

Release the Power button but keep holding the Home button.
