Try to put it into some rice during 15 days.
The rice is hygroscopic,
It worked with my phone.

If you feel confident about opening up your ipod, open it and dry the board off carefully. Water from a washer has a lot of contaminants and can cause corrosion later down the road. I have read multiable stories of people using the rice trick and it works for 1-2 weeks after waiting a couple weeks in the rice and then either the click wheel wont work or the backlights and/or LCD screen quits working.
The rice trick is about your best bet if you don't want to open the ipod. Just make sure you try to get as much water out of the ipod before letting it sit and make sure you dry the connectors since they can cause issues too with corrosion.
