Logo backlight modification - worth a go?

Here is the item number on ebay: 172502254490

Just wondering if this is worth doing? It looks like a simple install, as it's taped onto the backlight connector,so when you dim the screen, the logo dims.

Just wondering if any of you guys who know the iphones down to board level would know of any problems this may cause, only obvious thing at the moment, is battery life would be worse. But could this blow any components?

Thanks.

If you have opened an iphone in the past and replaced any internal components go ahead its not super difficult just takes time. Taking the battery out is probably the toughest part unless you can successfully get the glue strips to come off on your first try. otherwise not too hard just follow the video below. The screen will dim a little from what i have found in the past and also keep in mind that it will void your warranty also verizon att or sprint will want you to remove it if you plan on trading it in for a future replacement

I repair them as a sideline (4 years now). But I didn't know if this would do any sort of damage to components before I offer this as a service to customers.

It looks too simple, and you know the saying!!!!!

Thanks for the response.

as long as you have electric tape or that little buffer pad over top of the connections and have 0 bare electronic connections open to protect you from shorts you should be fine

I'll either re use the black tape which is peeled off, or use Kapton tape if required.

Thanks
