My screen just faded into whiteness while I was using it!

So basically I bought a brand new BenQ monitor and it arrived last Thursday. It was working great until last night when I was watching YouTube and suddenly the screen faded into complete whiteness and now it won't go back even after turning it on and back off.

I can still hear sound but the picture is gone and there are some faint lines running downing the screen in a pinkish colour. The monitor is in a good place where it can get lots of air flow but my room is freezing so I don't know if that could have done it. Any answers would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

P.S - This is a gaming monitor and there is no PC connected. Only a PS4.

Hi,

Can you get a menu to display OK when using the monitor controls?

Have you proved that your PS4 is OK by connecting it to another monitor?

Have you tried a different video cable or input type if possible etc?

What have you tried?

What is the model number of your monitor?

Never mind guys, I found out that it isn't worth fixing and I should just get a new one.

Thanks for all the feedback though!

Hi,

As the advice from @pccheese says

If it is a "brand new" monitor, to use your words, consult the warranty statement in the documentation that came with the monitor as to what you have top do to make a claim for a warranty repair or replacement.

Here is a link which in general shows the BenQ warranty is shows that there is a 3 year warranty on LCD monitors!

Not worth fixing?! Is it a $5 dollar monitor that isn't under warranty? I fix it!

If you bought it new it should be under warranty. Make sure you have the receipt, then contact BenQ. They have a 3-year warranty on most of their monitors. If you don't know what a warranty is, it is a guarantee that if the device breaks, the manufacturer will fix or replace it for free. If you don't want to do the warranty, you can likely just return to the seller.

first try to connect something else to it like a pc, vcr, dvd player anything to see if you get a screen to come up. if not and like Tom posted earlier if you do not see the menu buttons then the screen may be faulty. i would return it to the vendor if its in its 30 return period.
