Hello Mar. At this point, having changed the battery, insured you have a genuine Apple charger and swapped your MB into a known-good device, it is safe to say your issue is with the charging circuit on the logic board. This is commonly referred to as U2/Tristar.

This is a micro-soldering repair and is not DIY. If you don't have the right tools or skills, I would encourage you to find a micro-soldering repair shop to do this for you.

afraid of that, thanks

could that have ruined the earlier batteries?

by

That's hard to say. Your phone is old so the battery was probably on its death bed anyway. The Tristar IC is more of a communication chip even though it's always associated with charging problems. It is responsible for recognizing anything connected to the Lightning port. So when it fails, it doesn't recognize that a charger is present.

The actual "charging" IC is Tigris. If it was supplying incorrect current or voltage to your battery then yes, it could have damaged the battery.

Try a known good battery, are you using an original apple charger or an aftermarket one?

i would say just a new charger but if you already tried that then what i do is i just get a small pin needle and just poke around in the charging port for a while and dig out lint or even wood yes ive seen some wood in a charging port and just clean it out really good then try it and if not i would just put in a new flex cable charging port in it and try

This sounds like logic board issue i.e. u2 charger ic needed to replace, this can not be done by you, so you have to take to mobile micro-soldering repair shops.
