part that the battery plugs into?

Can anyone tell me which part I need that has socket that the phone battery plugs into?

I can't tell if it is the iPhone Dock connector or the iPhone headphone jack and volume control. Or, could it be some other part??

Dang, it looks like I what I need is a Logic Board. IFixitnow does not have any for sale.

Let me guess the battery connector got ripped off the board. There are people that can repair the battery connector. Better to do that first than changing another logic board because a second hand iPhone 4 is like cheap.

Yes, it did rip off the board but so far I haven't been able to find it. I'm sure it flew off the board but where that is the question.,

And yes, I agree about the phone is not worth fixing however I just wanted to fix it for practice.

@jakester since you just want to practice, you are giving up to early. Get a new connector from places like ebay amazon etc. and run jumpers according to the attached image. Most of your future work will come from people like yourself, who have tore stuff off. It will not always be as easy as just replacing parts :-)

Oldturkey thanks for the excellent advise! Are you saying that they sell the connectors new on eBay, etc? Also, only one pad was ripped off. Can you please advise what type of wire is good for jumpers? Thanks again especially for the diagram!!

@jakester yes the connectors are readily available. I usually use a strand of single wire from an old electrical cable to create jumpers. After I solder it into place I use some insulating paint to cover it. If you need more advice on the pad just post some images of the damage with your question. For that use this guide so we can see what you see.
