I'm not sure how to start on this power problem.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E545 that is not powering on. I know for sure the battery and charger are working causes I tested it, but when I plug the charger I'm not getting anything to come on. I know we had a thunderstorm yesterday which may have caused a short in it, but I don't know where to start.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@neb , Ben, Below find 1st Link, service manual to show how to tear down your laptop so you can check for bloated capacitors, burnt components, etc. to see if lightning damage has happened and you will also be able to test the charge port, etc. There are also a couple other links showing how to test different circuits. Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

There isn't any bloated capacitors or burnt components. The links helped a little, but I haven't got around to test the circuits yet. Another thing is that I just swapped the battery with a new one and it is still not working.
