cannot switch on phone after charging

i left my phone to charge overnight. It was doing fine the night before then in the morning, i went to switch off the charger and found that my phone was shut off.I tried to switch it on but to no avail.I tried every method to try and switch it on but still no change. Is there another way to switch it on or a "fix" to this?
