The 1999 Chevrolet Malibu is part of the fifth generation (1997-2003) manufactured by General Motors. This is the first smaller, front-wheel-drive Malibu that General Motors put back on the market after the Malibu line was temporarily discontinued in the early 1980's.

Vanessa Cauley , check taillight/park light and instr. light fuses with a test light rather than visually as this will test fuse and connection.

15 Amp PARK LPS fuse in your under hood electrical center, if it is blown and you change it and it blows again, my suggestion is to remove (both) of your rear lamps on the vehicle and unplug them. Then put a new 15 Amp Park Lamp fuse in the under hood center and turn the lamps on again. See if the fuse blows. If it does not then plug in each lamp individually and see which rear lamp causes the fuse to blow. This will help trouble shoot which socket, plug, wires to be checked, causing the issue hopefully. See links below that also trouble shoot this issue and have useful info. and suggest test to try. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

You probably just need to change the bulbs. It's very easy.
