iPhone 6 does not power on, even after replacing battery.

I am wondering what the common reasons for an iPhone 6 not powering up are. My iPhone 6 stopped working abruptly while it was sitting in my pocket. The phone has not been water damaged or physically damaged. Nothing displays on screen and no sound is made when plugged in. Doing a hard reset seemingly has no effect.

I replaced the stock battery with a new one from the iFixit shop. There is no difference after replacing the battery though. I don't think it is an issue with the charging port either, since the original battery was around 80% before the phone stopped working. I assume the new battery would have also arrived with some amount of charge in it. Any other ideas on what to troubleshoot?

Do you have an ammeter? You could plug that into your charger and see if the phone is pulling amps. If its not then most likely a tristar issue. In lamens terms this is a chip on the motherboard that usually fails from using an aftermarket charging cable.

I checked with an ammeter and 0 amps are being drawn. I see a lot of mentions of tristar chip issues. I only used the original Apple cable that came with the phone, and an Amazon Basics Apple MFI certified Lightning cable. I don't understand why either one of those would damage the tristar chip?

It's your tristar. The u2ic chip on your phone that interacts between the battery and the charger. You'll want to send it out to a board repair shop. I hear iPad Rehab does good work
