No contact with dock connector and no charge?

I have replaced the battery, AND the dock connector.

Unfortunately, my iPhone 3G is still not charging (computer & wall charger) nor is it being recognized when connecting to a computer (both MAC & PC).

Any ideas?

The reason for changing was just a drop, as far as I know there is no water damage.

a drop wouldn't kill the battery. Could be damage to prongs on battery but it should be ok. Try swapping it back to see whether the new battery is the problem(sometimes happens)The clue to what's broken will be in the area of the external damage-obviously- so if connector 4 isn't damaged then I'd take a good look at the top left of motherboard under the metal cover to see if power processor is damaged.
