Camera does not always start up, upon opening the door.

My JVC Enviro (30GB) Hard Drive camcorder, (on intermittent times), will not automatically "auto on", upon opening the viewer screen door. Normally, the camera powers on, and is ready for full recording mode, when the viewer door screen, is opened up. This is forcing me to open and close the door, several times, to get the camera to power up. Because of this, it has caused me to miss out on important events, at many times. It has never been dropped or had a serious problem, so I cannot figure out, exactly "what" may be causing the problem. All I know is that it is frustrating.
