a/c adapter cord severed

my cat ate through the a/c adapter cord. i spliced the two end together but it no longer works. can i get a new magnetic connector and attach it to what's left of the a/c adapter cord?

Unfortunately, as MagSafe is a proprietary technology, you cannot buy parts for it, get a new ac adapter here.
