Why is my MagSafe not charging my MacBook Pro

The connector of the MagSafe heats up whiles it is unplugged from the MacBook. The led light does not show up when plugged and heats up as well

It sounds like it has an internal short. Repair is very difficult. On this one I would replace it. Check to see what wattage it is beforehand.
