DS won't read some games.

My DSi won't read some old games that I used to play on my regular DS. It does work with the other, more recent, games I own. Why won't my DSi read my old games? I think it may be because these old games just simply aren't meant for the DSi, but I just want a confirmation.

DS games should work on a DSi; I do have a few questions of my own though.
