logo start screen changed from Compaq to HP invent

hello all

something really strange happened.

i have an old laptop Compaq presario 2500, for many years it's always been displaying the start screen with the logo COMPAQ displayed in red. then one day it started displaying HP invent without any reason at all.

2nd prob: when i put the battery in it wont power on.

i remove the battery and it works just fine.

can anybody give any explanation to these phenomenas ??? thanx alot

compaq was bought by hp years ago, maybe it's just some kind of system update you installed (or was installed automatically).

just guessting, but battery might be shorted or somehow bad, or drawing too much current (perhaps the charing mechanism). try different battery or power supply.
