Can I re-glue the ribbon cable to the touch screen?

Hi, the ribbon cable glued to the touch screen has fallen off. I can see from the outside that the cable is loose (1.6 inch long hole in the bezel), opening the device confirms this. Of course, the device does not respond to touch events any more.

Is it possible to re-glue that cable to the screen? Which kind of glue would I have to use? How is the process of re-glueing the cable to the screen?

The device is a Nexus 7 2012 with 3G.

It's not glued to the screen, its hot bonded (like soldered) onto it.

You can't do this as it is already broken, just get a new touch assembly.
