Why won't my tablet cast screen even when a device is selected?

my RCA 10 Viking pro won't cast screen even when there is a device selection available? Why when you select your own device as accessible the timer keeps going and then tells you there is no device available when the device to be selected is right there and it will not let you select it? Please HELP!!!!
