iPad 2 Completely Dead - Logic Board or Dock Connector?

Our iPad 2 completely died last week. Prior to going dead the battery would hold a decent charge (6-8 hours). We have tried all of the manual boot techniques but nothing works and the machine does not pop into iTunes.

From looking around around it seems it is most likely either a logic board or dock connector. I am comfortable trying to crack open the case but once it is open is there a way to test to see what component may be broken?

Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?

Thanks

Have you tried a different charger first? Or plug the iPad 2 into a computer?

I agree with S W, try different chargers first. It's likely the dock connector, or it could be that it just needs a new battery, before we jump to logic board repairs/replacements

Cool. Once I pop in a new connector, is it easy to test before completely reassembling?

Yeah. Just turn the iPad on without putting the glass back on with its adhesive.
