Touch ID cable is disconnected.

Hi

After replacing battery on iPhone 5 S, as I tried to connect the Touch ID cable/ribbon to the phone body it disconnected from the screen part. Not sure how to reconnect back.

Any ideas please.

Are you saying that the touch ID ribbon has come away from the actual button, if this is the case then i'm afraid there is no way of restoring Touch ID functionality. You can buy a new home button but it'll only work as a non touch ID home button.

If you are looking on how to reattach the Touch ID ribbon back into the socket just below the batter then follow this guide

Thank you rayeasom

The ribbon became unattached just before the home button. In the picture at the start guide just below the thumb nail is a small white object on the ribbon which looks like a bar code. This is where it came apart. Not sure if this can be reattached or if a new home button is needed. I was being very careful when I was trying to attach the other end of the ribbon near the battery, when it came apart.

unfortunately there is no way i know of repairing the Touch ID button once the cable has been damaged. You'll need a new button and sorry to say loose Touch ID functionality on this phone.
