Is it worth repairing?

The coffee had milk in it and flowed all over the keys. Now it won't boot up. It has been sitting since Dec. 2016. Is it worth having it fixed, if possible?

I can buy a good used working one on eBay for $300.

So use that as a guide as to how much to put into it to get it repaired.

Also do a search for "macbook air 11" & 2011 & parts" to see what one like yours would sell for.

Everything is worth fixing, as long as the price is right :)

First thing to do is remove the bottom cover and battery, then unplug both ends of the trackpad cable and the keyboard cable. Check the gold contacts on both sides of the trackpad to make sure they are not burnt or have corrosion, and check the PCB on the trackpad for corrosion, or burnt pins on the keyboard connector.

Reconnect the trackpad cable (both ends), leave the keyboard cable disconnected and plug in the charger. Chances are, if you just spilt liquid on the keyboard, it will have shorted PP3V42_G3H or another signal to ground, preventing it from booting.

If it boots with the keyboard disconnected, remove and check the logic board (to make sure there is no liquid damage here) and replace the keyboard or the whole palmrest with the keyboard (the keyboard is riveted in, check videos online to see the process of this).

If it is still dead and you have cleaned liquid off the logic board, this will need to be properly diagnosed using schematic and board view files. If you have not got experience soldering or doing this before, I would recommend taking it somewhere at this point.

Good luck!

Can you suggest what the price might be?

Depends on where you take it, what fault it has and where you are based. As an example, we replace the keyboard for £99.99, and do logic board repairs for between £80-£170. Other companies may be more than this or less.
