Can you put a 5S battery in a 5c phone.

I have ordered a new battery for a 5c the battery sent is for a 5s, the shop said you can still fit it. Just concerned it may cause further damage to the phone. Any help or advcie thanks.

You can do it, I do it all the time. But for some reason iFixit says they're not compatible...
