LCD Purple Line with no Damage?

Block Image

So my S7 Edge has a purple line going through it. This is a replacement screen and the seller claims it worked perfectly, and showed a pic, but on my phone it has a purple line on it? There is no damage on the LCD contacts and I cleaned them with oil.

Clean them with IP alcohol . I'm assuming you used something like WD40 or some other light penetrating oil. If so you may have contaminated the contact with particulates that will be noticeable when it dries. To see what i mean spray some WD40 on a metal surface and come back to it when its dried . There will be a white film. In most cases where you use WD40 on electrical connections to help dry them out this wouldn't be an issue but in something as fine as this and as many pins as your LCD connector it probably is . Hope this helps . Nice to see you back , its been a while

I actually used IP alcohol. Not sure what even happened. I have done this so many times... The screen is like brand new.

And thanks ;)

Don't know if it's still needed, but this normally is a warranty case. It's a common issue with S7 edge screens (happens way too often with new, unrepaired S7's as well). Samsung is aware, I think about 80% of the people who own this phone will at some point find themself with a purple line through their screen. Yay, guess what I am looking at while typing this..

If you press lightly underneath the top speaker of your phone, the line will disappear. Chances are it will (sometimes immediatly) come back at some point though.
