vibrate button works, screen does not

the phone can turn on enough to get the vibrate to work, and it also makes sound when plugged in, however thats about as much as it turns on. i tried resetting it, but nothing.....still no screen. i have also tried using another functioning screen and same problem. this is water damaged board, yes i cleaned the connections and the board. could the battery be shorted?

sounds more like a display issue. when the phone is turned on is there any light on the lcd? if you can see faint images it may be backlight coil. if the vibrate works but no display shows, you've tried a working display...then the connector 1 or other part for display has been corroded/shorted. Sometimes replacing connector 1 will solve the problem, go back and clean again, and again to see if it helps (it certainly has for several of my phones) or sell as spares or repairs for someone else to fix.

ps. the battery is more than likely to need replacing, they very rarely survive a good swim
