What's wrong with my MacBook Pro?

Hey guys. My MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2012 has a weird problem. When I press the start button, only the dvd drive starts, the system doesn't start and the screen stays black. As the fan doesn't start, I think that the electricity doesn't reach the processor, only the dvd drive. What do you think, what could be the problem? I already tried resetting several things such as SMC but as the system didn't start, it propably didn't do anything. Sometimes the MacBook starts, it's only very rare but it should be mentioned.

Please help me, it would be nice if anyone knows what's going on! Thank you!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

While you hear the optical drive go on. Is there a chime sound at all?

by

There is no startup chime at all. Only when I press my ear against the case I hear it working. And I opened the case to make sure I'm right. I was searching for that problem for at least two days on the internet but it seems like I'm the only one with that problem... but thank you to all who already tried helping me!

Let's get some info to see what may be causing it to not turn on (Go into S3 mode if I'm correct)

Does the charger display a green / orange charging light when plugged in?

No fan spin at all when attempting to turn it on right?

Can you feel the CPU heating up after trying to turn it on? You can place your hand on the black heatsink air vent metal to test. Don't worry you won't burn your hand unless you leave your hand on it for a long time or leave the charger or battery plugged in for a long time.

Not sure if this would help but try replugging the battery.

The charger plug is lighting up. The fan doesn't spin at all... I'm not sure if I feel at the right place but it doesn't get hot or even warm. I replugged the Batterie multiple times and it didn't have any effect.

I think the logic board is somehow damaged as the processor doesn't get electricity. If the processor would be activated, all startup commands would be as usual... What do you think?

Do you by any chance have a multimeter? That would allow you to check the different voltage rails and see which one(s) are missing.
