Battery won't charge - problem with MagSafe board?

A friend spilled coffee on my laptop. luckily, it wasn't an awful lot. after a good cleanse everything else seems to work wonders, except the battery won't charge.

is there a good chance the MagSafe board got fried from the spill?

alas, it's not the adapter or outlet, as both are working fine to charge another MacBook.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

If the unit runs off the magsafe, then it's probably not the DC-IN. It's probably the battery connector. Does it boot and run OK? Download and run Coconut Battery to find its status and let us know: http://www.coconut-flavour.com/coconutba...

the machine would boot and run fine. it was running normally for a few hours before I had to plug it in and realized it wouldn't charge the battery.

I brought it in to be serviced and they ran some diagnostic off a USB key that reported all was well. despite the battery not charging.

thus, I don't have the laptop in my possession now, but what you're suggesting is that the battery needs replacing?

anything that doesn't mean my logic board is fried is good news
