Swap HD drive between a MacBook to MacBook Pro

Good morning,

My wife has (had) a silver MacBook (the one with the removable battery) which she spilled a bit of water on. It does not start up anymore but the HD seems in tact, did not get wet.

Would I be able to take her HD out of her normal MacBook and replace the HD in my 2010 MacBook Pro and then start it up as her machine?

Thanks?

Well yes & no ;-}

I would take your wife's drive out of her system and place it into an external HD case. That way she can use it on your system without altering your system. Here's one option: OWC Mercury On-The-Go Bus-Powered, Multi-Interface Enclosure Kit

As for using her drive internally in your system I'm not sure here as you have conflicting model info??

You talk about a 2010 MacBook Pro:

But you have marked your system as this one:

So if you have either of the 2010 models then you could swap out the drives as both are 2.5" SATA HD's. If you have the newer 2013 model the answer is no as it uses a custom blade SSD unit.
