Booting phone from factory reset without SIM

Hi,

I'm starting to buy and fix various phones, I'm just getting started and have several I'm getting parts in for. My first issue is how to boot a phone from factory reset without a SIM?

The phone is an iphone 5c, it was factory reset from someone prior to me buying it. It's repaired and I can't get past the initial set up without a SIM card.

Most of these phones are on Verizon, I have a Verizon SIM I'm currently using. Can I use my SIM to check proper operation of these phones? Or will Verizon loose their mind if I use my SIM to setup 100 different phones?

Do people who repair phones have SIM cards from various carriers to check operation?

Thanks!

Yeah, you can use your sim to check. Verizon doesn't care, and likely won't know if you do this. Yeah, I keep a few around, to be able to check

Thanks imedic! Where does one come up with Sims for other carriers? Don't they have user account info attached to them?

Kind of. I acquire then over time. By the time I use them to have the phone find the carrier, the customer data isn't linked anymore. I also acquire a lot of phone cases. People leave stuff at the shop

Perfect, I'll see if I can get some found for other carriers.
