Is it possible to replace the top screen interior border?

I recently went to a repair shop to get the screens swapped from another New 3DS system because it had a better screen type. However, because the donor system was white it has this white border around the top screen which looks distracting on a black New 3DS system. Would it be possible in any way to have this border replaced with a black one while still keeping the same screen?

Here is a picture of what I'm talking about

My last question about this is more about advice on where I should go to get this procedure done. I went to a local Cell Phone Repair store to have the screens swapped in the first place but when I asked them about replacing the border they said it was possible but they personally would not take the risk at attempting it. From what you guys are saying I don't blame them either but do you know anyone more willing and dedicated enough to do such a procedure of replacing the screen border while keeping those screens intact and unharmed?

I'm not sure why they didn't swap the screen protector out while they were replacing it. It's not hard to do once you have the screen out already. Anywhere that would replace that part would cost as much or more as it did to have the screen replaced. At that point you might as well just buy another one.

Its a different screen quality that not many New 3DS systems have. To replace the screen altogether would defeat the purpose of screen swapping in the first place. I live in Florida but if you guys know any store that would be willing to replace the border I'll send it wherever, just looking for someone who would take the time and get this replaced properly. Please and thank you.

Yes, you can replace the border around the screen by dismantling the 3Ds. There are gobs of adhesive securing the screen assembly so it would be a difficult but possible replacement.

Yes, you can replace that...It's the screen protector for the top screen. The best way would be to disassemble the device again and pop that one out and put a new one in there. BUT you can actually remove that without disassembling the device. It may make a mark on the plastic though so you have to decide if you are OK with that or not. Basically you can take a dental pick or something similar and pry it up from the plastic that it's glued to. This process can gouge that plastic a bit though so that may not be worth it to you.

Hope this helps!

Just color it with a fine tip sharpie? Beats paying for a replacement lens
