mac A1181, apple says its expandable to 2GB RAM, you say 3gb?

just wondering where you guys heard that the a1181 is expandable to 3GB of RAM... has this been confirmed that if i use a 2gb chip with a 1gb chip that that my mac will actually be able to use 3 gigs of RAM and not just waste the 3rd? thanks, branden.

Branden, rj is correct. Your mac will recognize and utilize 3GB of RAM.

According to Mactracker the mid 2007 A1186 can use 3 GB of memory. (Apple says 2GB). The early 2008 A1186 can use 6 GB (Apple says 4 GB).

I have maxed my machine out at 6GB of RAM although Apple says it can only be maxed at 4. MacTrackers actual max stats are correct. +
