After battery replacement, screen has multi color lines

Thanks in advance for the answers. I replaced the battery on my ipod touch 5th generation and when I turned it on, I got vertical, multi color lines on the screen, which come on for a few seconds and then disappear for a few seconds. From what I can gather I damaged the screen, but I'm not sure how. Any ideas? What do I do next?

Hello,

This could be an issue with the cable that connects the screen the Logic Board. To clarify, do the colored lines appear then disappear after a period of time, or are they on all the time? Also, to better assist you, could you please provide me the model number if the iPod?

Thanks!!

The model number is A1421. The colored lines appear and then disappear, about every 5-10 seconds. Thank you for the help

Thanks! The best answer I can think of is 1) cable from screen to logic board or 2) logic board itself is damaged.
