homeslawns, Your 2002 Lincoln may have power mirror memory (auto adjustment/setting). Some vehicles have a 2 person set up that can auto adjust themselves depending who is driving the vehicle just like power seats do. Link to manual below, should tell the operation and setting of mirrors. Good luck.
