My MacBook wont charge

Hey guys,

I bought a Mac with some of water spill. But the Mac only shows that the battery was damaged.

I bought a new one off Amazon, all was going well but the second day the battery won't charge. I pass out a brush it was very dirty and then when turn on the battery won't charge.

I was playing Call of Duty and the Mac was getting too hot, I have read that it could be an overheating of the batteries. The battery has a system that lockout the power entrance and doesn't charge.

Something like that what else could be?

You have two different issues here:

Call of Duty - Is a very demanding game for system resources which is why your system was overheating. You need to make sure the systems ventilation is not blocked and the system is able to keep cool. Often dust build up needs to be cleaned out of the systems fan & cooling fins. In some cases the heatsink heat transfer tube looses its coolant and/or the thermal paste needs refreshing. I would recommend you download this app: TG Pro for less than $20 its well worth it! It will give you insight on whats happening and may guide you on what to fix.

As for the battery issue you'll need to do a SMC reset to reset the charging logic. Follow this Apple T/N: Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac.

But you could also have a deeper problem! Download this gem of an app: coconut Battery it will help you see whats happening with the battery and the battery charger logic.

Post a snapshot of the main screen so we can see whats happening.
