dead gas and slow speed

I have dead gas in my ford F150, year 1991. Baby won't accelerate beyond 40 mph. Is it a stuck valve? Now what? No money for a tear down soo. Toulene, some other additive? Miracle Oil or ATF fluid in the engine?

@gunengraver , Stephen did you do a compression leak down test(link below) to determine it is a stuck valve, if not do one or have a good tech. check it, if it is indeed a stuck valve then the head assy. will have to come off to repair correctly. There are things that can cause an engine to run sluggish, faulty fuel pump. clogged catalytic converter, major vacuum leak, leaking head gasket, ECM(computer), bad distributor, clogged fuel filter/injectors,etc,etc.. Before doing this it may be well worth having the vehicle scanned for diagnostic codes, in case there is something simpler causing the issue. Some of the auto parts suppliers offer free code reading like Pepboys, Nappa, Advanced auto parts, etc and some of the guys are very knowledgeable and may have seen the issue often and put you on the right track. Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
