stalling issues with my 1988 c3500

I recently bought a 1988 c3500, when I got the truck the first day it ran fine, the next day I started it up and she fired right over.. While idling in Park I could rev. The engine with no issues.. When I would drive down the street and give its gas it would lose power, spit sputter and stall. Put it in neutral and it would start right back up.. The guy left receipts in the truck where he had the gas tank replaced, the fuel filter and pump. Trying to find out where to go next, any help is much appreciated

@jd419 ,JD Rickett , There quite a few things that can cause stalling issue, vacuum leaks(damaged/cracked hoses/intake/throttle body gasket), EGR stuck open, IAC valve, faulty injector, failing coil/fuel pump, plugged catalytic converter, torque converter lock up not releasing, etc.etc.. Try to retrieve engine fault codes as a first step as fault code may lead you to the problem. Below are some informative links that tell how to retrieve trouble codes and trouble shoot some of the things I listed. If not comfortable working on your vehicle have a good technician have a look, diagnose and estimate repair. Good luck.
