No signal & LCD changes colors when placed in housing

I replaced the back cover. After re-assembling I got 2 problems,

1. There is no signal after searching is done.

2. The LCD sceen works fine when not connected to the case. When it is housed in the case it changes colors and gives ghost like images.

1. I did everything what you suggested and it did not help. Let me clarify something. There is signal it is so weak that only the smallest bar shows signal. Most of the time I can make and receive calls and sometimes the signal is lost altogether.

2. The LCD was bad a new LCD fixed the problem.

THESE ARE TWO DIFFERENT PHONES> CAN THE FIX FIR BOTH THE SAME I.E. CHANGING THE CAPACTOR.

I see that you have also started a separate question for the phone not being recognised.... I'd suggest then that maybe your signal strength and no itunes are related? as they both could originate in the dock! so.... try replacing the dock first before anything else.

if you have checked the things i suggested for antenna then there may be damage to small area on bottom right of motherboard ie between antenna on dock and the area which receives the signal. there are some fixes on line about this which show how to "jump" the capacitor that has broken. try googling it. I will try and find the link...

1. check gold prong near do not remove sticker is making contact with metal bezel/frame. Also check connector 4 is in properly. if this doesn't fix it you can try replacing the antenna part of dock connector.

2. sounds like you haven't secured the lcd connection properly. try pushing just a bit harder on connection until it "clicks" on, then hold down with small screwdriver as you are closing screen. this connection often pops off when you close the screen.

make sure the screen is flat in the case if it is sitting above the bezel maybe there is something pressing on back of lcd?
