Removed touch screen broke ribbon cable, Bypass possible?

I recently spilt water on ipod, removed touch screen and broke ribbon cable on accident when i removed it... Is there a possible way to bypass that by removing the board that it was attached to or what must i do?

If I read that right, you spilt water on your iPod touch 3G, took off the Front panel (the touch screen part) and you accidentally tore the cable for it? If so, you're going to have to buy a new front panel for it, ifixit sells them

yes, i had a feeling thats what i would have to do but i was not sure if there was a way to just keep the front panel off and bypass that part... but i guess will just try a new front panel =) thanks for info

i dont know but what is the ribbon cable?

Paige, the ribbon cable is what connects the front panel to the mainboard on the iPod touch. Without it, no data can be sent from the front panel to the mainboard.
