iPhone 6 plus earpiece speaker is quiet even after replacement.

My son was chewing on my phone and the speaker was real quiet afterwards. I purchased the iFixit earpiece speaker replacement and installed but nothing changed. Not sure what else it could be, don't want to purchase a 100$ display only to have that not fix the issue either. And of course since I've already opened it Apple sent it back to me :D Any ideas?

Check the earpiece filter which is on the screen for blockage and the front camera assembly ribbon cable for any signs of corrosion, liquid damage or burn marks.

Yeah don't buy another display as the display is not the issue.
