My WM-4 Sony Walkman wont spin/turn but the battery indicator is on

I own a Sony WM-4 Walkman and it has new batteries yet it does not spin or turn and the indicator light is on and there are no internal or external nois but some static from the audio A and B output.

Any help apperaciated

Found it the motor is Dead connected a 6v dc powersuply to the motor and nothing happened

Joseph Protheoe you did not tell us if it worked before you changed the batteries. You want to make sure that the battery contacts are not corroded and make proper contact. If that checks out you want to disassemble it and take a look at the belt. Here is a teardown that will help you get into it. check the belt as well as the board for anything obviously damaged. Let us know what you find and it might help if you post some images with your question. For that use this guide. It will allow us to see what you see.
