Why won't the screen come off?

I bought the ifixit kit, but the screen is not prying off. (Yes the 2 screws are out)

Are you sure it's a 5s and not a 6s. If it's the 6s there is an adhesive that hold the screen down.

If it's a 5s sometimes they get a little stuck and the suction cup is not enough. I like to use a utility knife and slide it in the bottom and very gently pry it up. be careful not to go in too far as there are parts you can damage. Then you can use a prying tool to pop the rest of it out.

Try to use a suction cup like the iSclack.

Personally I avoid suction cups when it comes to opening iPhone screens. Way too easy to tear something if the glass separates from the screen plastic frame which usually happens on badly cracked glass / missing glass screens or aftermarket screens.
