@whelen35 the best way to identify exactly what you have is by the VIN. Honda motorcycles are following the 17 digit VIN system with certain exceptions. The last 14 characters of the VIN are stamped into the headstock. The full 17 digit VIN is recorded on the Federal Certification label which is also located on the headstock.

For the Engine you can use the Engine Number. Engine Number Locations:

1 - Left upper crankcase behind cylinder (larger engines).

2 - Right upper crankcase surface behind cylinder (medium engines) .

3 - Lower left side of crankcase (smaller engines).

So going by what you gave us as a NCO, it is most likely a NC0. That would make it either a CM400T or CM400A. you can identify the model by carb I.D number . VB21C for the CM400T and VB24B for the CM400A.

So if you can give us any of the above listed numbers we can use that to verify.

Looks a lot like a 1969 Honda CB 350 I had decades ago. Do not think anything from 1979, maybe rebranded after collision, lost ownership or something.

It's a CM400....can always be verified by the engine number.

@oldturkey03 , I am not saying your info. supplied is not good, because it is with the supplied info.from the poster, I even voted it up, I just thought perhaps he has the wrong ownership for the bike because it looks older then 1979 CM400. OT question for ya. when not busy, what does the NCO mean or stand for. Thanks.

Also took your advice last week and did it this week, Got the snowblower out, Thursday roads closed, etc. we have had over foot of snow the last couple days.

@lpfaff1 the numbers are punched in the headstock which is part of the frame. I doubt (not saying impossible) that someone went through all that trouble. NC0 is used by Honda to identify the model or engine type of the motorcycle. It does not decode to any particular factory etc. The NC0 is most likely a NC02-2000001 (CM400A) or NC01-20000001 (CM400T). The 17digit number is the one that should decode according to NHTSB standards.

Predicting a cold front for South Texas tonight and tomorrow. Low off 34 tonight. High tomorrow off 42 with a low of 29. Woohoo, finally some cold stuff to put us in the Santa mood. It's just not the same at 86 which was our temp today:-) Stay safe....
