Why is my cigarette lighter blowing fuses.

2000 Ford Expedition (Eddie Bauer edt.)

My trucks cigarette lighter keeps blowing the 20 amp fuse roughly 24 hours after I replace it. Why does it continue to keep blowing?

Options

First try plugging something else into the socket and see if it blows. If not, replace the heating element in your lighter.
