Why won't the screen or sound turn on after replacing home button?

After replacing the home button assembly, the screen, sound, or vibration wouldn't come back on. The power and home buttons work, just not everything else. I see that it still powers on, as it's detected by iTunes when connected to my laptop. Any idea what the issue may be? I've made sure the ribbons from the screen are properly connected, kept track of the screws, and I also tried re-connecting the old home button ribbon. Could this be a logic board issue?

Was the battery unplugged prior and during the part replacements?

by

Yes, I unplugged the battery, right after unplugging the home button ribbon, each time I opened the phone up. I would then plug the battery back in, 2nd to last, before connecting the home button ribbon at the end.

Sounds like the screen somehow got damaged. I recommend trying another screen.

No display at all right on screen, including no very dim display?

by

I was thinking it could be the screen at first too, but there isn't any sound or vibration coming from the phone either. When I've dealt with screen issues before usually it would still make sounds/vibrations when it's not muted (with the slider on the side).

Yeah no display at all.

I finally took my phone to a shop today, and they found out right away that one of the screen ribbons was damaged. It was slightly torn off. Ughhh... Thanks to everyone that helped!
